References in Overleaf

This figure illustrates the process of using references in Overleaf. You find the sources you want to use and add them to your .bib file. Then you use the references in your document, adding them by using commands. The reference list is generated automatically based on the references you have added to your document (not your library). If you have used Zotero/EndNote with MS Word you can compare Zotero/EndNote to your reference library (.bib) where you store all your references and MS Word with your LaTeX document where you add the references you want to use.
