Cite it! – How to add citations from your browser

“Cite it!” is especially useful for adding web-based materials, such as articles from electronic newspapers, websites, YouTube-videos, to your Leganto reading list.

 

To use "Cite it!", you must first install the function in your browser bookmarks tab:

  • Click on gear in the upper right corner.

  • Select Cite It! to open a new dialogue box.
  • A new dialogue box will appear. Read instructions to how to add “Cite it” to your browser:
    • First, make sure to have your bookmarks bar open in your browser.
    • Click and drag the “Cite it!”-icon onto the bookmars bar.

Once you have installed "Cite it!" in your browser, you can start adding citations:

1. Go to a website you wish to add to the reading list, or a website with information about the source you want to cite. Click on Cite it! from your bookmarks.

2. A new window will now appear in your browser. Choose Type and fill in the corresponding citation information (Note: The citation information is often filled in automatically by the program, please check that the information is correct).

3. Choose the reading list you want to add the citation to by clicking on the Select or search a reading list. Type in the course code.

4. Choose section if this is an option.

5. Click Add – the citation will immediately be sent to the reading list.
